ALL HAILS THE HND/BSc EQUALITY

Ever since the federal
government made the HND/BSc qualifications, it has elicited reactions from
different polytechnics in Nigeria.
When this reporter went round to interview some
persons and students across some of our polytechnic in the south east such as Abia
Polytechnic Aba in Abia state, federal Polytechnic Nekede in Owerri, and
Federal Polytechnic Oko, the students reactions from these institutions was
full of excitement even as they hope that this implications by the federal
government, would help to remove the disparity completely.
In a separate interview with some students at the Federal
Polytechnic Oko, there reaction was that of unending joy in their heart. One of
the students who gave her name as Ugorji Chinenye said "I am happy for the
steps taking so far by the federal government to bridge the gap between HND/BSc
holders, now they would not be any discrimination again by students from the
polytechnic ".
Another student name withheld, expressed delight on the
new developments and however called on the federal government to ensure the
through and proper implementation of it for the betterment of polytechnic
students who has suffered discrimination for so long.
In mass communication Department of federal Polytechnic
Oko, a student, Mazi Chimezie Okoroafor never hide his feelings when he said
"I am happy for the government intervention in their bid to end the so
long discrimination between HND holders and BSc, indeed Polytechnic education
can never be allowed to suffer".
